Have you ever spotted bags of litter neatly stacked beside bins around Brampton, Wath and West Melton and wondered how they got there?
The answer is simple: a fantastic team of local volunteers who are passionate about keeping their community clean, tidy and welcoming for everyone.
Whatever the weather, this dedicated group of regular litter pickers can be found out and about tackling rubbish, improving the local environment and making a real difference to the places we all live and enjoy.
Over the years, the group has collected thousands of bags of litter, along with countless larger items that have been carelessly discarded. Their efforts are supported by Rotherham Council, which helps by collecting and disposing of the bags and other items recovered during the clean-up sessions. The impact of their hard work can be seen right across the area, helping to create cleaner streets, greener spaces and a greater sense of pride in the community.
Getting involved is about much more than picking up litter. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people, make friends, get some fresh air and enjoy gentle exercise, all while giving something back to your local neighbourhood. The group welcomes people of all ages and abilities, and every helping hand makes a difference.
