Credit Union has changed its name to South Yorkshire Community Bank.
While their name and look have changed, the things that matter most are staying exactly the same. They are still the same trusted organisation, with the same people delivering the same great services to their members and communities.
This rebrand marks an exciting new chapter for the bank and will help it become more visible across our region.
Unlike traditional banks, South Yorkshire Community Bank is member-owned and not-for-profit. Which means anyone who is a member owns a part of South Yorkshire Community Bank. Any money they make on top of the cost of running South Yorkshire Community Bank is used to improve their services for the local community or is paid back to their members.
Why the change?
Last year, Sheffield Credit Union merged with LASER Credit Union in Rotherham, creating a larger, stronger organisation serving communities across South Yorkshire.
Their new name reflects this wider reach and shared ambition. Together, they are now South Yorkshire Community Bank – because with them, your money means more.
What’s not changing?
Although their branding is new, members can continue to expect the same excellent service and community-focused approach, including:
- Friendly and supportive customer service
- Not-for-profit approach to banking
- Range of loans, savings and budgeting accounts
- Phone numbers, branch addresses and opening hours
