Supporting NHS blood and transplant services

Cllr Jackson would like to encourage all ward residents who are fit and well and eligible to give blood to do so. Cllr Jackson attended a donor session at Montgomery Hall at the start of the month to do his bit.  Attending a session takes about an hour, with time for registration and plenty of drinks and biscuits and each donation can save up to 3 lives.

Regular sessions are held at Montgomery Hall, future sessions listed below:

Friday 2 October 12:15pm to 6:45pm

Friday 6 November 12:15pm to 6:45pm

Thursday 3 December 12:15pm to 6:45pm

Tuesday 22 December 10:10am to 4pm

Sessions must be booked in advance; this can be done online via the NHS blood donation website which is also full of information on what to expect if it’s your first time donating and other nearby locations and dates.

As well as blood donation being a vital service, attending a session also gives you some moments of peace in a surprisingly comfortable tippy chair, it would be great to have more residents following Cllr Jackson’s example.  Thank you to those of you who are already regular donors.

You can book your own session via the NHS website at https://www.blood.co.uk/
