Summer Highlights

Whilst the weather may have been too hot for some, and certainly a bit dry for gardeners and growers it’s been a glorious summer to be out enjoying the wonderful community events across Wath. Cllr Jackson was honoured to open the Wath All Saints Garden Party to start the summer season. The event was well attended with lovely performances from Wath CofE School choir and our wonderful Morris Troupes, though the baby barn owl may well have stolen the show!

Manvers Lake again hosted some wonderful summer events.  Due to slow ticket sales this year’s Waves Festival was unfortunately cancelled but there were fantastic turn outs for the UUKMA snake boat and cultural festival as well as the Yorkshire Festival held, of course, on Yorkshire Day. At a time of so much division it’s heartening to see the community coming together at these celebrations, huge thanks go to the organisers!
